The Friends of California Archives has contributed two stories to the California State Library’s Celebrate California collection of 175 stories that showcase the Golden State’s history –including triumph and loss, glory and injustice, and the famous and infamous.  

Two histories about Levi Straus and the little-known Arequipa Sanitorium: California’s Lung Resort for Women, written by Board Member and acclaimed author, historian and archivist Lynn Downey, can be found on the Library’s Celebrate California website at
